Lenher Y. Restructuring of the Legal System as a Means of its Efficiency Improvement.

The thesis is focused on the analysis of the formation and evolution of the institution of the legal restructuring. Factors favoring the establishment of the specific features of Ukrainian legal system have been determined. Common and distinct features of the legal system of Ukraine and that of the USSR have been also determined. The role of the norm-making process in the restructuring of the legal system has been investigated. The thesis deals with the special features of the transformational period from totalitarianism to democracy. The conclusion about the interdependence of democracy and legislation as well as democratization processes and the formation of national legislation is substantiated. Under the conditions of social reforms the legislation is a basis and means of their implementation; it plays a key role in the formation of institutions of civil society and of a law-governed state as well as in the integration of Ukraine into European and world community.
