Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the theoretical judgment of the concept of «artistic unity». In connection with the object in view, different ideas of artistic unity in the history of literary criticism were considered; the terminological meaning of the concept of «artistic unity» was specified among the number of correlating concepts («harmony», «wholeness», «system», «idea»); the basic aspects of artistic unity in a literary work were emphasized; the intertext displays of artistic unity were explored; the structural typology of artistic unity in the literary phenomenon was established; the displays of artistic unity were analyzed using the material of M.A. Bulgakov’s «small prose». The carried out historical and theoretical investigations and analytical researches became the basis for the definition of artistic unity as a creatively recreated harmony of the integrated and system relations.
