Essay

Object of research: programmable logical controllers (PLC) and digital devices on chip or printed board, their functional and testing processes. The purpose of research: to develop the models, methods and algorithms of the PLC with built-in functional and testing devices design to provide minimal cost and more effective technical diagnosis. Methods of research and equipment: the boolean functions theory, theory of finite state machines, graph theory, technical diagnosing. The theoretical and practical re-sults: the techniques to synthesis and design easily testable PLC, built-in functional and testing devices are suggested. The main goal is improve the properties availability and fault-tolerance of PLC using in industrial product. Novelty: the method to synthesis of the syndrome testable PLC units have been sug-gested for the first time. Design technique for pseudoexhaustive test pattern generators (TPG) on linear and nonlinear feedback shift registers (LFSR, NLFSR) have bee elaborated for the furtherdevelopment. Design techniques for TPG on tree-like feedback SR and cellular automata arrays have been elaborated for the first time. The methods PLC diagnosis on system level based on using PMC graph models and watchdog processors for diagnosis in the course of operation PLC have been suggested for the further development. A degree of introduction: Institute for Scintillation Materials, National Academy of Sci-ences of Ukraine, Kharkov; INEK LTD., Kharkov; educational process of National Technical University "Kharkov Polytechnic Institute". Sphere of use: control systems of industrial productions based on using multiprocessors PLC.
