Essay

The history of the world liberal movement from the revitalization of modern political liberalism up to launching of liberal institution of a new type has been investigated in the thesis: the emergence of Rawls-Dvorkin theory and academic liberalism renaissance of 70-ies gave an impetus to the process of the new liberalist paradigms' institutialization; being implanted in 2003 into African ground by Europeans the African Liberal Network started to create liberal parties in African countries. Since 1971 up to 1990 the North American type of liberalism was the leader in the world liberal movement. All the prominent political ideologies in North America compiled the so-called "family of liberalisms". The value shift and structural transformations of liberalism brought the latter to the recognition of the leading role of the state. Contrary to the North American liberalism the development of its West European analogue is connected mostly with the activity of international NGO Liberal International which since 1997 came into an active phase of development that proved by the quantitative growth and shaping its sub-structures in Asia and Africa. Besides evident organizational successes, the contradictions between theory and practice have proved and complicated overcoming political and value difficulties. The results of the thesis can be the basis for the further research of liberal movement evolution and nuanced understanding of regional liberalist variations. This can promote the overcoming of the crisis of liberalism and its making in Ukraine.
