Duk P. Linguostylistic characteristic of German humorous poems

The dissertation focuses on the study of contemporary German humorous poems. The purpose of the research is to determine the type of a text "humorous poem", by means of a complex analysis of the stylistic characteristics and of the mechanism of humorous effect created in humorous poems, as well as to develop a stylistic typology of the texts researched. The study is conducted on the basis of a functional approach, including the use of methods of stylistic, structurally-composite, functional, pragmatic, and quantitative analysis, methods of structural, graphic modelling, the typological method, and mathematical statistical methods. The results obtained constitute a contribution to stylistic and text theory, in particular to the stylistic typology of small literary forms and to the theory of the comic. The paper provides a definition of the typology of humorous poems; reveals and analyses basic stylistic peculiarities (expressiveness, brevity, presence of pointe, three-partness, entitleness, triteness);establishes the mechanism and conditions of the humorous effect created in humorous poems; reveals and systematises typical linguistic means of humour; and offers a humorous poem typology based on the procedure of correlation, which takes into account all stylistic characteristics of the texts. The results of the research are used in taught courses in stylistics of the German language, in taught courses of text theory, and in scientific work carried out by both undergraduate students and postgraduate students.
