The object of the research is English professional medical conflict discourse in verbal and extraverbal aspects. The purpose of the research is the complex analysis of organizing role of theme of English professional medical conflict discourse. The methods of the research include contextual analysis, systemic-functional analysis, elements of conversational analysis. The novelty: for the first time English-speaking medical workers' professional conflict communication is defined as discourse; its constant and variable features are determined. The paper gives the definition of discourse theme and its structure comprising macro- and microtopic; other the methods of discourse theme organizing analysis defines; specific characteristics of theme as discourse organizing constituent of English professional medical conflict discourse; specifies the status of terminological and professional units of language on the base of discourse theme notion. Theoretical value of the research lies in the fact that its resultsmake a contribution to solving the problems of discoursology, text linguistics, cognitive pragmalinguistics. The research deepens the knowledge about theme discourse organizing potential, offers new approaches to modeling discourse types and their theme organizing, defines correlation of theme and strategy of discourse and determines the conflict communicative technology in English professional medical communication. Practical value of the research is determined by the fact that its results can be used in theoretical courses on lexicology ("Functional stylistic differentiation of lexical units"), in special courses on text linguistics, cognitive linguistics, pragmatics and foundations communication theory. The results can be useful for specialists in conflictology, theory of negotiations and development of communicative technologies etc.
