Essay

The regularities of light spreading in the incommensurate phase of thetramethylamin-thetrachlormetalate crystals has been fixed. It has been experimentally and theoretically obtained, that the optical effects are caused by superstructure and are defined by the ratio of d/ l. It has been proved that the influence of electric field in the direction of modulation axes causes the change of superstructure period. If the electrical field is applied in the perpendicular directions it changes the period of superstructure and the amplitude of order parameter.
