Essay

Toponyms and methods of their presentation in special and learner's dictionaries of English. The aim is to find out methods of toponyms lexicographical description in special and general learner's dictionaries of the English labguage. The methods are descriptive, typological, quantitative. For the first time the lexicographical component has been added to the complex approach of the toponyms investigation. The results and conclusions make a definite contribution to theoretical lexicography, lexicology. The received data may be employed in lexicographical practice. The sphere of usage - higher school.
