Essay

In the research the basic aspects of diplomatic course of tsarism in relation to Halychyna in 1900-1914 are exposed. At finding of position of the Russian elite out a "Halychyna question" on a background of neoslavic movement is thoroughly analysed, the history of beneficent societies which were specialized in support of pro-Russian forces in the region is characterized. The author comes to conclusion, that Russian policy in relation to Halychyna - it is the policy of preventive russification of local inhabitants with the purpose of fight against Ukrainian national movement within bounds of Empire.
