Essay

As a result of complex research of age-related morphofunctional peculiarities of parathyroid glands and osseous tissue in the process of ontogenesis of the investigated animals and man with the employment of semiquantative method for the determination of DNA and RNA contents in the nuclei of parathyrocytes were evaluated their corre-lations with the volume of nuclei, content of mineral elements and phosphorus in the osseous tissue of man and guinea-pigs, as well as the level of parathyroid hormone, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium in the blood of investigated animals. Alterations of hydrocarbon determinants of parenchima and stromal elements of parathyroid glands in the norm and hyperthyroidism and of the matrix and cellular elements of the osteogenous and chondrogenous line in the process of both age-related involution and pathologies, that is evidence of the role of lectin receptors as signal molecules in the functional activities of parathyrocytes and cellular elements of the os-seous tissue.
