Essay

Genre specific features of I. Murdoch's fiction texts are examined in the historical-literary aspect. Imaginative nature of such metamorphical genre formation as a text of Murdoch's novels is elucidated in the prospect of its receptive potential. The phenomenon of the author's writing is marked by a text with its "interaspect convergence". The novels by I. Murdoch are regarded as a vivid example of the world outlook trend. Relying on the ideas of moral philosophy, the writer created the original genre form in the conceptual, subject and formal senses. The predominant genre features of her novels are defined as the universal dialogic mode and philosophical eclectics which provokes the metamorphosis of the novel structure. Therefore Murdoch's works can be considered a peculiar symbiosis of a philosophical reflection, literary and theoretical speculations and fiction. The impact of the postmodern world-perception is realized in Murdoch's fiction as a manifestation of the philosophical pluralism and genremetamorphism, intertextual and metaphorical peculiarities of her artistic thinking which generate the diversity of receptive solutions. Illusory world of Murdoch's characters determines the paradigmatics of her writing, including oneiros component, playing motives, as well as time and space structure and author's moral reflection. Infinite sense perspective of themes, plot turns, symbolic images created by Murdoch presupposes the active reaction of a recipient.
