Steshenko N. Ukrainian and Russian historiography Settlement of the Step of Ukraine in the XVI-th - XVIII-th centuries

The object of research: ukrainian (except for historiography of diaspori) and Russian historical scientific literature XVIII - to beginning of ХХІ item which touches illumination of questions of settling and mastering of the Step of Ukraine in the XVI-th - XVIII-th centuries. The aim of research: critical analysis of labours of the Ukrainian and Russian historians XVIII - to beginning of ХХІ item on issue of settling of the Step of Ukraine in the XVI-th - XVIII-th centuries. The subject of research: analysis of not only facts but also principles, approaches, ideological looks, tendencies which prevailed in Ukrainian and Russian historiography in XVIII - at the beginning of ХХІ item at the study of problem of settling and mastering of of the Step of Ukraine. Methods of research: historiography analysis and synthesis, problem chronologic, comparative, retrospective, biographic. Theoretical results and novelty: certainly the state of study of question of settling of region and basic stages of developmentof historical idea. Scientific and social and political motivation and certainly different approaches of scientists is found out to the problem. It is set that for today there are disproportions in research of different aspects of problem. Probed, that a general tendency on all of the stages of study of problem was creation of two bipolar looks on issue of settling of the Step of Ukraine in the XVI-th - XVIII-th centuries. The sphere of use: teaching of courses is for history of Ukraine, historiography, special courses from history of South Ukraine; preparation of scientific labours and train aids.
