Bezugly M. Efficiency of Combined Two-Staged Surgical Treatment Method for Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma

Object - primary open-angle glaucoma. Purpose - to increase the treatment efficiency of the patients with various types of primary open-angle glaucoma. Methods: ophthalmological - visometry, perimetry, tonometry, tonography, biomicroscopy, gonioscopy, ultrasound echobiometry, ophthalmodynamometry; spheroperimeter, slit-lamp microscope, A-B scan, ophthalmodynamometer. It was established, that hyper- and hypovolemic types of primary open-angle glaucoma are notable for the position of irido-lenticular diaphragm: in hypervolemic type-there's its significant antedisplacement whith development of relative pupil block, while in hypovolemic type its position doesn't change. It was found the advisability of laser iridotomy use for primary open-angle glaucoma irrespective of its clinic type. It was worked out the combined two-staged surgical treatment method for primary open-angle glaucoma with laser iridotomy as the first stage and subsequent deep non-penetrating sclerectomy, which allows to increase the efficiency of primaty open-angle glaucoma's treatment due to post-operative complications amount reducing. Results of work are introduced in ZMAPE and sity hospitals in Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Berdyansk. The sphere of use: medicine, ophthalmology.
