Essay

Electromagnetic fields of microwave radiators in dispersive lossy media are under consideration. The main goal is development of an effective method for measurement of complex permittivity of lossy media in the microwave band. The model of a coaxial probe admittance which accounts for high order modes that are excited at its aperture is devel-oped. Errors of complex permittivity measurement due to particularities of the real probe geometry are studied. The technique of permittivity measurements of liquid media by an isolated coaxial probe is pro-posed and tested experimentally. Nondestructive investigations of dielectric properties of materials are application area.
