Essay

The object of the research - is modern English corporate discourse. The purpose of the research - is to determine pragmatic and sociolinguistic peculiarities of the corporate discourse. The methods include the semantic-syntactical, stylistic, contextually-interpretation, descriptive, pragmatic and conversational analysis. The novelty: for the first time in the research corporate communication is characterized as a separate type of discourse; the importance of corporate discourse in the system of corporate values is distinguished; the pragmatic peculiarities of corporate discourse are described in the typical communicative situations; the communicative strategies and tactics in the corporate context are systematized. Theoretical value of the research lies in the fact that its results make a contribution to the discourse theory, pragmatic linguistics and stylistics. Practical value is determined by the fact that its results can be used in the lecture courses on theoretical grammar ("Sentence pragmatics.Speech act theory"), lexicology ("Terminology"), in special courses on discourse theory, communication theory, linguistic pragmatics, sociolinguistics.
