Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the development and implementation of information technology for time-scale modification of Polish sounds. A new classification of sounds for speech time-scale modification is developed. Statistical data concerning the changes in temporal structure of sounds produced in different speech tempo is analyzed, and a set of specialized functions for the temporal reconstruction of sounds is proposed focused on Polish diphthongs. An information technology for speech sounds segmentation and labeling which allows dividing of a continuous speech on separate classes of sounds is described. A method of noise decrease by the use of cross-correlation functions is modernized. A specialized hardware and software for time-scale modification methods modelling and investigation is developed.
