Lipkovska-Nadieina N. R. Dahl's polyarchy theory: conceptual bases and practice.

The dissertation is devoted to critical analysis of Dahl's scientific work, researching of its world view and methodological principles. The author analyzes modern criticism of scientific thoughts of the scientist, theoretical pre-conditions of his ideas which connect with ideas of representatives of pluralism direction - A. Bentley, M. Olson, D. Truman etc. The dissertation determines the main terms of polyarchy theory: democracy, polyarchy, interest groups; it finds out its main principle - distinction of real sphere (polyarchy) and sphere of due (democracy); it researches the conditions of realization of polyarchy in political practice. According to polyarchy theory the political systems of the USA and Ukraine are analyzed. The conditions of possibility of application of polyarchy theory to the salvation of modern methodological, theoretical and applied problems of political science are researched. R. Dahl's ideas are examined as an important step on the development way of American politicalscience tradition in particular and world political science on the whole.
