The dissertation highlights structural, semantic and pragmatic traits of modern English discourse of international press conferences. The discourse is viewed as a complex hybrid discourse combining the features of political, advertising, mass media and public relations discourses. This discourse is examined as institutional discourse that possesses institutional and conversational characteristics. It suggests the prototype interactive model of the discourse that combines functional and structural parameters, as well as addresser-addressee interaction specificity in the discourse manifestation. Semantically, it falls into the following subtypes: informative press conferences, opinion press conferences, and conflict press conferences. The study of press conferences discourse temporal structure is performed in view of its form and content. The study deals with communicative strategies and tactics of the participants of speech interaction.
