Essay

The object is Anthony Mundy's literary experiments. The aim is to determine the specific character of his interacting tradition & innovation with those of later English Renaissance. Principles and methods of complex analysis of the literary text: receptive esthetics, "New Historicism", sociocultural studies. It has been proved that Mundy introduced the elements of philosophical disputes, Renaissance novella, lyric poetry, Palmerin romances & jests in his novel "Zelauto". The writer's plays enriched the national dramatic tradition with devices inherited from ancient & his contemporary continental artists. The information about pageant has been analyzed, a new definition of this genre offered & the poetics of Mundy's "Triumph of Gold" researched.
