The thesis deals with the methods and means development to improve the operation effectiveness of automatic generation control system of the Ukrainian power system. The mathematical model of interconnected Ukrainian and Russian power grids is worked out in which the operation algorithms of the active power station regulators of the regulating hydroelectric power plants of Ukrainian power system are included. The identification method of the variable power flow coefficient with the frequency adjustment in the real-time mode is proposed. The recommendations of the system regulators operation condition choosing is proposed in the event when the power grids of Ukraine, Russia and Western Europe are interconnected.
