Essay

Dissertational research is devoted to an actual scientific problem of definition of peculiarities of social and psychological adaptation of visually handicapped students to training in Institutions of Higher Education. The complex of psychological conditions is scientifically proved and factors which influence the process of social and psychological adaptation of visually handicapped students in Institutions of Higher Education are defined. Methods of sociometry, diagnostics of mental status, factors and levels of social and psychological adaptation of blind and partially sighted students are adapted to a contingent of examined. Levels, criteria and parameters of adaptation of visually handicapped students as well as the influence on the process of adaptation of motives of education for speciality, directed on the aid for children with the problems identical to the recipients are established. The structural and functional model of rehabilitation and adaptive accompaniment of visually handicapped is proved and developed, as well as its principals and directions are defined. The system of rehabilitation and adaptive accompaniment of visually handicapped students in Institutions of Higher Education was introduced in practice.
