In the dissertation the decision of the important scientific problem connected with revealing of genre peculiarities of "Crimean" women trave-logue within the English travel literature at the end of XVIII - first half XIX century is submitted. At the historical literary level of research the tendencies of English narrative prose functioning, in particular women travel literature, are deter-mined. The specific and role of "The Crimean text" in the English travel lit-erature are considered including its gender differentiation in the ways of re-constructing the Crimean reality. At the theoretic literary level the concept of "travel literature" and "genre of travel" are concretized, the term "travelogue" and the classification of its modifications are offered. On the basis of essentially new text sources are investigated genesis, constant attributes, evolution direction, typology and poetics of travelogues. It is stated that "Crimean" travelogues demonstrate a documentary artistic structure within which are synthesized different genre modifications of "travel". Documental and mythology are major principles of its typology.
