Essay

The thesis was revealed the pathogenic importance of mother hormone-metabolic disturbances during pregnancy for the development of endocrinopathy in offspring. It was shown the inducing influence of gestational diabetes and modulating influence of social-emotional stress on insulin resistance development in offspring. Our data indicated multiple genesis of total insulin resistance including hepatic, adipose and muscle parts (glycogenolysis, gluconeogenesis, lipolysis), and dominant impact of decreased insulin sensitivity on disglycaemia development in the first generation offspring of gestational diabetic mothers. Gender differences of insulin resistance development in offspring of gestational diabetic mothers were found out. Maternal social-emotional stress strengthened gestational diabetes-induced insulin resistance in male offspring. Our data indicated that maternal stress during early pregnancy against the background of gestational diabetes increased offspring sensitivity to short-term motion restriction. Therapeutic supplementation with antioxidative vitamins was effective against the insulin resistance and dyslipidaemia development in offspring of mothers with gestational diabetes or/and social-emotional stress.
