Essay

The thesis is dedicated to theoretical and experimental research of non-traditional carborizing secondary materials, that contain carbon and silicon carbide, de-velopment of briquetting technologies and scientific justification of innovation tech-nology of steel bath carburizing in electric arc and open hearth furnaces with applica-tion of secondary materials, which are formed by manufacture of abrasive silicon car-bide at the JSC "ZAK" and graphited particles at the JSC "Ukrgraphit". Physicochemical analyse of processes of silica reduction by carbon to SiC was made; physicochemical model of rearrangement of additives Al2O3, CaO, Fe on differ-ent temperature zones in resistance furnaces was developed on the basis of theory of chemical transport reaction. Conditions of secondary materials concentration with getting concentrates with in-creased SiC and C content were developed and investigated, as well as technology of manufacture on cement bond of briquettes, which contain carbon and silicon carbide (CSiC- briquettes), was realized. Under conditions of JSC "NTZ" the technology of steel bath carburizing with partial substitution of cast iron with CSiC-briquettes was developed and mastered in industry. Under conditions of JSC "KCZ" the technology of steel melting of grade 20 ГЛ and 20 ГФЛ in electric arc furnaces with the total substitution of cast iron by CSiC-briquettes was developed and mastered. Calculations, which were carried out, confirm the economic effectiveness of applying of developed and scientifically graundes tech-nological decisions in steelmaking.
