Essay

The actual problems of masonry strength and uniformity applying nondestructive methods for building structures made of clayware were studied. A new approach for obtaining those data based on integrated applying of three methods is proposed. The ultrasonic pulse method was used for determination of the construction material strength. The impact wave method was used for assessment of masonry uniformity under double-sided access to the structures. The impact-echo method was used for assessment of masonry uniformity under double-sided access to the structures. The selection of effective informative characteristics and criteria for assessment of masonry strength and uniformity was substantiated. The proper procedures and technical means of masonry structures diagnostic were developed. The outcomes of studying were approved at many different buildings during their reconstruction.
