The object of research - processes of functioning and increase of economic effectiveness of productional and business activity of subjects of agricultural complex. The aim of research is working out the scientific and methodical bases and substantiation of the complex of organizational and economic actions of ensuring farms' competitiveness. in market relations conditions. The methods of research are dialectic; monographic; economic and statistical; calculations and constructive. The theoretical and practical results of research are following: theoretical bases of ensuring farms competitiveness are substantiated; optimal placement of industries of basic types of production according to certain natural economic conditions of region; major directions of specialization of certain farms of the region are defined. Scientific novelty is that complex system is substantiated and an algorithm of calculation of the level of competitiveness of farms is worked out, taking into consideration the influence of factors of external and internal medium; the system of monitoring of farms competitiveness at the regional level is improved, the major directions of their productional activity diversification are defined. The extent of instillation is following: the results and conclusions of the thesis are instilled by Main Office of agrarian and industrial development of Odessa regional state administration; by the Administration of agriculture and provision of Baltsky and Artsizsky district of Odessa region. The sphere (branch) of use is economic of farms of the region.
