Dissertation is devoted to the analysis and development of theoretical constructions and practical recommendations in relation to the improvement of complex estimation of efficiency of work of unprofitable coal mines with steep layers with the use of cluster analysis. It is set that on the basis of mine's industrial elements analysis it is expedient to use the group of integrated indexes based on the account factors. It is set that it is necessary to use intercluster distance index as a measure at cluster analysis which reflects the level of index deflection in enterprise production from conditional optimum trajectory which is formed on the basis of real maximum indexes. It is set that at prognostication of results of future activity it is necessary to take into account the index of authenticity of qualitative evolution or qualitative involution. It allows to estimate the real potential possibilities of enterprise due to own resourses and efficiency of investment's use with the mines of region by an index "evolutional potential of mine". It is examined the degree of comparative investment risks for keeping the group of deep mines for mining the valuable coking coal. It is based economic the expedience of working off stocks of upper horizons due to the capacity of mining and cost's change/
