Essay

The objects of investigation are vibrations and self heating of viscoelastic bodies with accounting of thermomechanical coupling. The aim of the study are regularities of vibrations, heating and thermal instability of layered prism loaded by vibrating punch. The problem is formulated within coupled thermoviscoelasticity and solved by iterative and time step methods in conjunction with finite element method. New dynamic problems for metal-polymeric rectangular prism under harmonic tension and shear in plane and anti plane statement are solved. New data concerning an influence of structural inhomogeneity, contact conditions, dynamic effects and type of loading, on self heating are obtained. The results obtained can be applied to evaluate fatigue strength of layered viscoelastic members and determination of parameters of ultrasonic welding of this sort of members.
