In the dissertation is for the first time studied the whole creative heritage of A.Nikovsky - the famous Ukrainian public and political figure, publicist, literary critic and linguist. The great heuristic work, attribution, systematisation and species classification of A.Nikovsky's heritage as a source complex are fulfilled. The life and the creative work of A.Nikovsky on the basis of numerous and various sources are reconstructed. The value of the A.Nikovsky's works as the sources for the study of the history of Ukrainian national movement in the specified period is shown. In consequence of analyse of the A.Nikovsky's creative heritage is determined, that his heritage is a valuable source for the comprehension of development of the Ukrainian literature and the linguistic discussions in the first third of the XX-th century. Analyse of sources has proved, that the creative heritage of A.Nikovsky can be examined as an independent part of the source complex, where are fixed the information about public, political and cultural life of Ukraine, the prosopographical topics, which enable to restore the biography and the traits of A.Nikovsky and some other Ukrainian figures of the beginning of the XX-th century. In the supplements are reflected the number and the places of keeping of the founded letters, are given the biographical information about the addresses and correspondents of A.Nikovsky, is made up the whole bibliography of his works (807).
