Zhuravel' Y. Administrative and legal status of local self-government bodies

present thesis is devoted to a complex study of some peculiarities of administrative and legal status enjoyed by local self-governmental bodies in Ukraine. The author of the scientific research offers some complex ways enabling to solve existing problems of both a theoretical and practical character. There have been analyzed the legal norms embodying the key research notions, such as «local self-government», «local self-government bodies» etc, and suggested the ways of refining the mentioned above notions, as well as offered the notion «local self-government body» being introduced in the current legislation. The given work studies the classification of local self-government bodies together with some specific features of their formation procedure. There have been revealed the problems concerning legal regulation and realization of the powers assigned to municipal authorities, as well as classified and studied specific methods and norms of their managerial activity. The author determines the range of organizational and legal measures aiming to enhance the local self-government bodies’ role under administrative, administrative and territorial, as well as political reforms in Ukraine.
