Object: postmastectomy syndrome, its development mechanism, clinical presentations and prophylaxis. Purpose: perfection of the methods of early postmastectomy syndrome diagnostics with the help of ultrasonic densitometry and its prophylaxis development by means of detralex application. Methods: general clinical; densitometric; histological; biochemical; statistical analysis. Results: it was discovered that the drug detralex can de used for the prophylaxis of postmastectomy syndrome development, because it does not compromise antitumoral effect of breast cancer combined therapy, heightens the three-year survival of patients to 29,8%; the effective way of pectoral muscles fibrotisation diagnostics with the help of ultrasonic densitometry was developed, which allows to prognose the postmastectomy syndrome in its early stages and prescribe a preventive treatment. Novelty: first the fundamental possibility of effectiveness increase of postmastectomy syndrome prophylaxis by using of vegetable flavonoids wasproven, the morphological condition of pectoral muscles at patients after radical mastectomy, combined with the use of hamma-rаy teletherapy, was investigated, ultrasonic densitometry of soft tissues of shoulder-girdle to determine the degree of the postmastectomy syndrome was used, the influence of pectoral muscles fibrotisation process on the level of postmastectomy syndrome was determined, the flavonoid detralex was used for its prophylaxis. It was implemented into the clinical practice of surgical departments of Vinnytsya regional clinical oncologic dispensary, Mykolaiv regional oncological, Donetsk regional antitumoral centre, into the curriculum of the Department of radiodiagnostics, radiotherapy and oncology of Vinnytsya National Pirogov Memorial Medical University.
