Gedin M. Social, pedagogical and scientific activity of historian Y.N. Shulgin

Candidate's degree is devoted to complex research of Shulgin's life, pedagogical and social activity of famous Ukrainian historian Y.N. Shulgin, his scientific heritage. On the basis of analysis of historiography problem, involvement of wide sources of archive files, scientific and publicistic heritage of the historian, the biography of the historian was reconstructed and his contribution to development of historical science was revealed. At the same time his historical and sociopolitical views were studied. Significance of scientific and pedagogical activity of the scientist for Ukrainian rebirth was analyzed and his place in sociopolitical movement of the last third of ХІХ and early ХХ centuries was determined specifically his participation in Kyiv and Odesa community's activity.
