Kuzhda I. The effectivness of modificated method of treatment of accomodative disorders in children with astigmatism

Object - with-the-rule astigmatism. Purpose - to increase the effectiveness of treatment of children with different forms of with-the-rule astigmatism. Apparatus - autorefractokeratometer, proximeter.Methods - clinical and statistical. It was supplemented the scientific data about the frequency of ambliopya in children with with-the-rule astigmatism, which was 60%. The presence of irregular accommodation in main meridians of eye in the majority cases in children with different forms of astigmatism and its role upon visual acuity was determined. It was shown the effectiveness of sectoral training of accomodative ability in weak meridian by using positive and negative cylindrical lenses.The effectiveness of using modificated method of training accommodative ability did not depend on age factor. It was noted the increase of average value of visual acuity in 0,25 (by 1,6 times) with the preservation of the achieved efficiency during 12 months in 76% of patients.
