The dissertation is devoted to the problems of a fine as a type of penalty in Criminal Law of Ukraine. The history of formation and current situation of legislative prescriptions of this penalty type are researched. The peculiarities of imposition of a fine by a legislator in sanction for different types of crimes and imposition of this penalty type by courts are determinate. The proposal to improvement of the proper regulations of Criminal Code of Ukraine and practice of their applications are formulated.
