Shadrina N. Modern technology of the supporting-moving stump formation after enucleation with the combined implant.

The author suggested the modern method of the supporting-moving stump formation (Patent of Ukraine № 3532 that's 15.11. 2004 y.) on the base of the new model of orbital implant (Patent of Ukraine №36962А that's 16.04.2001 y.). The comparative results of the long term follow up of the 98 patients (98 eyes) which were operated by new technology and 13 patients (control group), which were operated by traditional technique with cartilage were presented in this work. The method of eviscero-enucleation was modified for preparing the cornea with sclera. All investigated patients were divided onto 4 groups according to the peculiarities of the surgical technique. Based on the finding of clinical examination the author concludes that developed dislocation, rejection of the orbital implant and to decrease the bleeding during and after surgery 100%. The clinical part of the work proves that thanks to the peculiarities of the fixation of this orbital implant the surgical treatment with the new method increases thequality of the supporting-moving stump (total volume of movements on 60,8 %, stability of position 100 % in patients without eye. The indications for the using of new method according to the size of the eye before surgery and for the patients without eye were developed.
