Essay

Theoretic and methodological background of political culture study in scientific thought was analyzed in the dissertation. Existing concepts were studied and basic approaches towards understanding and using of political culture concept were relieved. It is showed that political culture of Ukraine was formed under the influence of many historical and historically stipulated mental factors. Special impact was produced by absence of statehood during several centuries and division of Ukraine. Contemporary political culture of Ukrainian society is examined. Political culture of Ukrainian society is determined as belonging to mixed type embracing elements of patriarchal, activists political culture. Ukraine is characterized by fragmentized political culture.
