Essay

The dissertation is devoted to issues of improving efficiency of therapeutic and preventive measures for children with iodine deficiency disorders. While conducting the research work the correlation between structural changes of thyroid gland and functional disorders of the hypophysial-thyroid system in children under mild iodine endemy conditions has been determined. It has been shown that the thyroid provision level results in disorders of physical, intellectual and sexual development as well as those of mental and emotional state and cognitive functions. Prognostically markers of the goiter and nodular pathology of thyroid gland in children have been established. An algorithm for individual prediction of thyroid pathology probability has been designed. A scientifically based automatic program health monitoring of children with iodine deficiency disorders has been created.
