Dissertation is devoted to the study of sound imitating vocabulary of crimeantatar language, which consists of onomatopoeical, explained feelings auditory modality and sound symbolic, re.ecting motion, form, size, emotional state and other feelings. The sound imitating function of elements of root is explored, basis and other onomatopoeical partial and sound symbolic words, the analysis of their phonetic-morphological features and metatezis variety of root morpheme is conducted, and also typology and etymology of sound imitating words is given in a modern crimeantatar language. In a modern crimeantatar language onomatopoeic roots meet in such phonetic varieties: CV, VC, CVC. (CVCC, CVCVC), where C – consonant, V – vowel. The most widespread is a type CVC. The functions of anlaut of consonants depend on acoustic-artikulated signs (deafness / ringing, hardness / mildness, labiality /unlabiality and other). Differentiation of values in the case of alternation of inlaut of vowels takes place on the sign ofvertical variation. Research above the names of some birds and animals in a modern crimeantatar language prove them onomatopoeic origin, explained a distinctive sign – eigentone (sound imitating word) or original appearance (sound symbolic word), selected a man in the process of nomination.
