Cherif A. Pediatric monocular traumatic cataract reconstructive surgery optimization

OObject - monocular traumatic cataract. Purpose - optimization of pediatric monocular traumatic cataract reconstructive surgery. Methods - visometry, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, ultrasound scan (Cinescan), keratorefractometry (Nidek), character of binocular visual acuity, statistical. The intensive eye growth reveal in group of children (4 - 7 years) and makes 0,7 mm with the subsequent delay up to 0,5 mm in group (8 - 11 years) and up to 0,35 mm in group (12 - 15 years). It is established, that surgical intervention with in-the-bag foldable IOL implantation in children does not influence on the pseudophakic eye axial length growth. The elaborated method of IOL correction in children allow to create mild myopia, that restorate the visual functions. The elaborated surgical methode of in-the-bag IOL implantation in pediatric traumatic cataract after penetrating injuries. Elaborated new surgical technique of iridodyalisis repair. The results have been adopted at the Filatov Institute, Kharkov state medical university, Republican pediatric clinical hospital of Crimea, Zaporozhye regional pediatric clinical hospital and Zaporozhye regional hospital. Elaborated new surgical methodes provided IOL implantation into the deformed capsular bag and achievement of stable binocular vision. The sphere of application: medicine, ophthalmology.
