The thesis is dedicated to the investigation of particularities of the process of object-image thinking forming of the children with retardation of psychological development of junior school age and to working out and approbation of the method of its correction by means of constructive activity.The psychological sense of object-image thinking, mechanismes and dynamic of its development, the stages of installation of objective kinds of thinking during its onthogenesis are described in the research. The correcting role of constructive activity in forming the cognitive activity of retarded children has been determined.The levels and qualitative peculiarities of unsufficient level of object-image thinking of junior pupils with the retardation of psychological development have been defined.During the investigation the efficiency of the special method of step-by-step forming of the object-image thinking of junior school children with retardation of psychological development by means of constructive activityhave been discovered and confirmed experimentallyю.
