The thesis is dedicated to improving methods for reliability and safety assessment of reinforced concrete structures of nuclear power plants in presence of uncertainty. An interval analysis method is proposed to calculate the non- deterministic response of a finite element model. An algorithm is developed for second-order uncertainty quantification when defining the reliability characteristics of a reinforced concrete structural element. A methodology is proposed for uncertainty quantification in reliability analysis. The uncertainty impact on reliability estimation is analysed. Target field: structural engineering.
