Researches goal. Researches goal was to evaluate methane emission by the cattle into the atmosphere of different biogeochemical provinces of West Ukraine at different feeding rations and age of animals; to investigate the influence of different feeding factors on the methanogenesis processes and microorganisms' vital activity in the cattle rumen. Researches object vital activity of cattle's rumen microorganisms, dependence of methanogenesis on different feeding factors influence. Scientific novelty of the obtained results: for the first time the investigation of methane emission by the cattle of two biogeochemical provinces of the West Ukraine was carried out; the zonal and seasonal dependence of this process in animals was shown. For the first time specific data concerning the methanogenesis intensivity by the rumen microorganisms depending on the ration carbohydrates type, presence of saturated and unsaturated carbonic acids, alcohol, aminoacids, compounds, containing sulphur and microelements are presented in the researches in vitro. The inhibiting influence on the methanogenesis of some aminoacids, combined influence of microelements and ammonium sulfate was shown. The influence of short-linked fatty acids on methanogenesis at rumen digestion formation in young cattle was studied.
