Tron' A. Means of Expressing the Category of Frequency Rate in Modern English.

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the category of frequency rate as a constituent part of the universal category of aspect. In the course of systematic analysis we distinguish multiplicative and semelfactive verbs as the basic means of expressing the category of frequency rate in the English language which include echoic verbs, RL-verbs and fixed verbo-nominal phrases of the type to give a glance. They are characterized by a seme of frequency rate in their semantic structure. But in the semantic structure of the sentence the frequency rate can be intensified by modifiers, for-adverbials, in-phrases or by the context. Eight lexico-semantic groups of the verbs of frequency rate have been singled out and analyzed. The difference between the multiplicative and iterative aspects has been singled out.
