Essay

The work is dedicated to studying antiviral activity of such medicines as decamethoxine, aethonium and unitiolum against influenza and herpes simplex viruses both in vitro and in vivo and some mechanisms of there activity. Unitiolum, aethonium & decamethoxine have inhibited the reproduction of influenza human viruses strains A/Hong Kong/1/68 (H3N2), A/PR/8/34 (H1N1), В/Leningrad/17/86 viruses and avian influenza H5N3&H7N3 in the tissue culture. It was shown that this preparation decreasing proteolytic activity of the purified and concentrated A/PR/8/34 influenza viruses, of CAM plasmatic membranes and virus-membrane complexes in vitro. Preparations inhibit the proteolysis increasing that take place during virus-membrane interaction. Intranasal application of all studied preparations in different schemes considerably decreased mortality of infected with influenza virus mice. Decamethoxine, aethonium and unitiolum show anti-herpetic activity in vitro.
