Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the present-day nature of wolf's distribution on Ukraine's territory, ecology aspects and the behavior in various natural areas. The aspects of territorial structure of the packs, demographical characteristics, the influence of hunting on the sex and age structure, the connection between social structure of packs and the territorial accommodation of species were studied. The data concerning the aspects of biocenoti-cal relationship between wolf and other predatory mammals as well as data on the spectrum of nutrition were gained. The conclusions on the wolf attraction to the use of anthropogenic resources. The recommendations for the management of the wolf population.
