Fedorkov O. Ukrainian ensemble of trombones in the context of the World music art

The thesis analyses the specific historic development of the Ukrainian trombone ensemble in the context of the world trombone art. It is for the first time in the national musicology that the stages of the 500-year-old history of trombone ensemble as performing cast and phenomenon of a composer’s creative work are being considered as a unique original genre system. The use of the historic principle is being justified for analyzing the trombone ensemble taking into account the specific features of the instrument and genre-stylistic context.Memoria genre is presented as a variety of music for trombone ensemble of the second half of the XXth century. More than 100 works of the international composers and 23 works of Ukrainian composers are being considered. All of them are written for trombone ensemble. Their language, composition-dramaturgic and genre-stylistic features typical for the works of Ukrainian composers written for trombone ensemble are being characterized.
