Essay

On the basis of a complex clinical-psychopathological and pathopsychological investigation of 182 patients with dysthymia and 44 healthy persons data were obtained regarding causes and peculiarities of formation of dysthymia, manifestations and course of its different variants, principles for diagnosis and therapy of this pathology were worked out. It was found out, that a clinical-psychopathological structure of dysthymia is characterized with an ambiguity and polymorphism. This allows us in accordance with etiopathogenic mechanisms and leading clinical-psychopathological manifestations to define three variants of the pathology: dysphoric, somatic-vegetative and senestho-hypochondriacal. A system of therapy for patients with dysthymia worked out by us is characterized with a higher therapeutic efficacy in comparison with methods used traditionally.
