Mamedowa A. Cognitive-semantic and communicative-functional organization of German folk riddle

The dissertation is devoted to the complex investigation of nominative and communicative organization of the German folk riddle (GFR) as a result of linguistic creative activity of the ethnos. It has been proved that interdisciplinary studies contribute to linguo-poetic investigation of the GFR nature, to specification of its paroemiological features and prosodic parameters. GFR exists in the paroemiological stock of lingual culture in the form of two main genres, i.e. verse and prose. In the context of the nominative aspect the mechanism of reference based on the process of coding and decoding information in the binary structure “riddle – answer”, the types and forms of logical and semantic connections between them and the ways and means of conceptualization of objects of extralinguistic reality which determines the choice of value dominants and promotes their arrangement in the form of a specific concept-system have been considered. In the context of the communicative aspect the pragmatic-semanticpeculiarities of GFR (i.e. the functional perspective of the sentence, communicative dynamism and act-speech potential) with the subsequent focusing on its predicative organization (i.e. temporality, modality, personality) and syntactic structure (i.e. simple, paratactical, hypotactical sentences) have been pointed out.
