Essay

The dissertation examines the problem of transformation of the classical concept of subject in M. Heidegger's and H.-G.Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics. The primary chracteristics of the classical concept of subject in ancient, medieval and modern philosophy are analysed and its connection with the concepts of substance, consciousness and reflection is established. It is proved that the role of subject in Heidegger's conception of hermeneutics plays existencial "сare", and in philosophical hermeneutics of Gadamer - historically-effected consciousness. It is demonstrated that the destruction of the classical concept of subject in philosophical hermeneutics is connected with the transition of functions of knowledge to language.
