Fylypchuk S. Christian denominations and parties of Christian direction in the social life of independent Ukraine.

The dissertation presents the results of composite historical-religion research of Christian churches and Christian parties' activity of independent Ukraine in 1991-2007. With the help of considerable resource material it became possible to analyze the forms of participation of different religions in the social life, and to show the role of churches in the parliamentary and presidential elections. It was proved that the social life of independent Ukraine is characterized by two interdependent tendencies: deep politicization of church sphere and not so deep sacralization of political sphere. The process of formation and activities of parties of Christian direction in present-day Ukraine is explored in details. This work gives the reasons for failures of all these organizations of religion character, as well as in case of situations stability their hopelessness in the social life of Ukraine. Special attention is paid to analysis of the social dimension of Christian - democratic parties and their activity.
